Lakers news: When will LeBron James makes his debut? What are the pre-season fixtures?
LOS ANGELES LAKERS begin their pre-season fixtures in just under two months, but when will LeBron James make his debut?
James has been training with his new side this offseason after joining from Cleveland Cavaliers.
The small forward is hoping to help the young side challenge for the NBA championship - which he lost last year against the Golden State Warriors.
The Lakers have announced six pre-season games and the pick of the bunch are the final two, which will pit James against the Warriors - who were his nemesis at the Cavs.
But his debut is expected to arrive in San Diego on September 30 against Denver Nuggets.
James is looking forward to getting going with his new side and credited the influence of Magic Johnson for joining the Western Conference outfit.
“You look at the Lakers, being able to play for a historic franchise with so much history,” James said.
“And now being able to partner with Magic Johnson, someone I kinda like looked up to when I was younger and wanted to make no look passes like Magic.
"I wanted to get on the break and be Showtime like Magic and then for it to all come to fruition at this point.
“I think timing is everything. For me to be in this position now, the excitement that I have to be a Laker.
"I’m happy to be apart of it because I believe the Lakers is a historical franchise, we all know that.
“But it’s a championship franchise and that’s what we’re trying to get back to.
“I’m happy to be a part of the culture and be a part of us getting back to that point.”
