Man Utd transfer news: Leonardo Bonucci demands Juventus deal over Jose Mourinho option
MANCHESTER UNITED could miss out on signing Leonardo Bonucci as the AC Milan defender seeks a return to Juventus.
Manchester United are keen to bring Bonucci to the Premier League.
As Express Sport revealed earlier this month, the centre-back is available for £30m as Milan struggle with finances off the field.
But the Red Devils may have to move on to their other transfer targets following fresh revelations in Italy.
According to newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Bonucci has requested a return to Juventus - the club he quit for Milan last summer.
It is claimed the 31-year-old is willing to patch up his strained relationship with Juve manager Max Allegri to move back to Turin.
The defender quit Juve after their disastrous Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid in Cardiff last year.
The fallout from the final also saw Dani Alves exit the club.
It ended a seven-year stint it Turin where he won six straight league titles.
But Gazzetta claim Bonucci resolved as early as January this year that he wanted to return to the Allianz Stadium.
Juve won the Serie A title last season and reached the Champions League quarter-finals before being knocked out by eventual winners Real Madrid.
The plan is to win European football’s biggest trophy this season and Juve have signed Cristiano Ronaldo for £105m to do just that.
They are also said to be keen on appointing Zinedine Zidane as a director.
As for United, Harry Maguire appears to be their main transfer target for the centre of defence.
Leonardo Bonucci scores SENSATIONAL goal for Milan
Manager Jose Mourinho is open to more new recruits this summer after a fairly quiet transfer window so far.
He held showdown talks with United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward this week to go through transfer plans.
Manchester United are in the USA on their pre-season tour and play Milan on Thursday morning (04.05am) in Pasadena.
