Paul Pogba: Why France star is SCARED to play for Manchester United - Alan Shearer
PAUL POGBA is SCARED to make a mistake when he plays for Manchester United - a feeling he does not get in a France shirt.
That is the verdict of BBC Sport pundit and former England striker Alan Shearer.
Shearer was speaking after France beat Belgium tonight to reach the World Cup final.
Pogba played the entire 90 minutes and starred for Didier Deschamps’ side.
The midfielder has often been criticised since rejoining Manchester United for a then world-record fee of £89million in 2016.
When he makes a mistake in a United shirt, he looks as if he’s kind of scared to make another one
And Shearer says that is because he is frightened to make a mistake playing for the Red Devils.
“I think he plays with a freedom in this French team,” Shearer said.
“If he makes a mistake, alright it’s accepted.
“Whereas, when he makes a mistake in a United shirt, he looks as if he’s kind of scared to make another one.
