Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus: Gonzalo Higuain partnership would be ‘spectacular'
CRISTIANO RONALDO would form a “spectacular” strike partnership with Gonzalo Higuain if he joined Juventus.
Ronaldo to Juventus: Real Madrid will sell for the right offer
That is the opinion of Higuain’s agent and brother, Nicolas.
The Serie A giants are widely reported to have made an £88million bid for the Portuguese superstar as they look to tempt him away from Real Madrid.
The 33-year-old has hinted at a desire to move away from the Bernabeu following a third successive Champions League triumph back in May when Real beat Liverpool.
Ronaldo has been with Real Madrid for nine years and played alongside Higuain between 2009 and 2013 during which time the pair scored a combined 287 goals across all competitions.
The Argentine has however been linked with a summer switch to link up again with ex-Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea.
Yet while Ronaldo’s potential arrival and his desire to play a central striking role would appear to threaten Higuain’s standing in the Juve squad somewhat, his agent insists otherwise.
It would be fantastic obviously, especially if he made a strike partnership with Gonzalo.
Nicolas Higuain told Sky Sport Italia: “We don't know anything yet. He was team-mates with Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid, but they haven't spoken about it.
"It would be fantastic obviously, especially if he made a strike partnership with Gonzalo.
"They know each other so well, as they played about 80 games together.
“If Juve can do it, this will be fantastic, just spectacular. It's hardly new for them to work together."
Serie A champions Juve are thought to have offered Ronaldo a deal which could pay him up to £500,000-a-week in Turin.
He is currently paid around £365,000-a-week by Madrid and has not signed a new contract with the Spanish heavyweights in hopes of being paid as much as Barcelona star Lionel Messi and Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar.
Ronaldo has also been linked with a return to Manchester United though it remains unknown as to whether they will look to challenge Juve for the Portugal international's signature.
