Cristiano Ronaldo: BBC Sport pundit heaps praise on Portugal star after free kick vs Spain
CRISTIANO RONALDO scored a stunning free kick to secure Portugal a point in their opening World Cup game against Spain - and the BBC Sport pundits were purring over the Real Madrid superstar.
Ronaldo scored his first hat trick at a World Cup to claim a 3-3 draw for Fernando Santos’ side.
Spain came back from 2-1 down to lead 3-2 and looked set to collect all three points.
But Ronaldo had other ideas and beat David De Gea from 25 yards with a trademark free kick.
Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy was commentating on the game and was amazed with what he saw from the 33-year-old.

Not many players that can do that. Incredible free kick from an incredible footballer
“Well, he went over it, round it, had all sorts of bend and dip,” Murphy said of Cristiano Ronaldo's strike.
“Not many players that can do that. Incredible free kick from an incredible footballer.
“It’s a brilliant free kick, technically so difficult to do that.
“All those hours and hours on the practice ground.
“And in a game where they’ve been dominated second half, never looked like getting back in it.
“When you’ve got that man, you’ve got a chance.
“It’s unbelievable, unbelievable.”
