Chelsea transfer news: Next manager told to build team around one player
CHELSEA’s next manager should build his team around N’Golo Kante next season, claims ESPN FC pundit Paul Mariner.
Kante: Chelsea would be 'crazy' to sell says Mariner
Antonio Conte’s long-term future at Chelsea is in serious doubt.
The Italian failed to qualify for the Champions League last season and is expected to be relieved of his duties this summer.
Former Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri is the favourite to replace Conte at Stamford Bridge.
And Mariner believes one of the new boss’ tasks would be to keep midfielder Kante at the club.
It would be absolute madness and the Chelsea fans will go crazy
Kante has been linked with a move to French giants Paris Saint-Germain in recent weeks.
“Well that’s where you start your midfield,” former Arsenal striker Mariner said.
“If you’re going to rebuild your midfield that is where you start.
“It would be absolute madness and the Chelsea fans will go crazy.
