Gerrard, 37, was today appointed as the new Rangers manager.
The ex-Liverpool midfielder leaves his post as the Reds’ U-18s coach to take up the role.
He will start the job in the summer and there is intense speculation about what he will do with the squad at his disposal.
Rangers are not flush with cash and plenty of pundits and former players have warned they must give Gerrard the right backing in the transfer market.
Asked in his unveiling what he plans to do this summer, Gerrard simply replied: “We’ll strengthen.”
