Man Utd star Ashley Young elbowed Dusan Tadic and could face ban says ex-referee
MANCHESTER UNITED star Ashley Young “struck” Southampton midfielder Dusan Tadic and could face retrospective punishment.
Ashley Young appeared to elbow Dusan Tadic during Man Utd's game with Southampton
That is the view of former Premier League referee Chris Foy, who was working as a pundit for BT Sport.
Young and Tadic had a coming together in the second half of Manchester United’s clash with Southampton tonight.
The United defender appeared to elbow Tadic in the stomach while defending a corner.
Referee Craig Pawson did not see the incident and Foy says Young could be in trouble for the incident after the game.
It looks as if Young strikes Tadic in the stomach with his elbow
“Yeah Darren it’s quite interesting,” Foy said in response to BT commentator Darren Fletcher.
“Obviously Craig Pawson is paying attention on what’s going on in the penalty area and he can’t quite see what Ashley Young does.
“But it looks as if he strikes Tadic in the stomach with his elbow.
“That’s obviously been missed and whether it will be looked at over the next few days we’ll wait and see.”

Ashley Young could face retrospective action for the incident against Southampton, claims Foy
If Young is punished for violent conduct he could miss Manchester United’s next three domestic games.
That would mean he would sit out of the visit to Everton on Monday and the FA Cup third round clash against Derby next Friday.
He would also be unavailable for the Premier League clash against Stoke on January 15 at Old Trafford.
