But he is not eligible to feature until next season due to work permit regulations so a loan move to partner club Cultural Leonesa is on the cards.
A couple of positive tweaks to the squad could go a long way to ending Leeds’ exile from the Premier League.
What do Leeds need in January?
To strengthen the squad in a few areas.
Leeds have a decent core of around 14/15 players but the squad looks thin when injuries occur.
Pierre-Michel Lasogga hasn’t been a roaring success while Caleb Ekuban has had foot problems so a new striker could be key.
A new goalkeeper would also be good because Felix Wiedwald and Andy Lonergan have not impressed although Leeds would struggle to fill that spot in the middle of the season.
An upgrade on Gaetano Berardi at left-back would also be ideal.
Leeds could earn promotion this season so it would be ideal to avoid stuffing their squad with permanent additions who wouldn’t cut the mustard in the Premier League.
Woodburn is classy and would thrive in the Championship.
Who will Leeds probably sign in January?
Heracles winger Brandley Kuwas.
Victor Orta likes to search the continent for bargain buys and Kuwas fits the bill.
He wouldn’t be too expensive, despite racking up assist after assist in the Eredivisie.
Spanish striker Alfredo Ortuno could also arrive on a free transfer - before immediately joining Cultural Leonesa on loan.

Will Leeds lose anyone in January?
Goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell could head out on loan to continue his development.
Midfielder Mateusz Klich is another potential loan departure while winger Hadi Sacko has barely featured under Thomas Christiansen.
