Radio phone ins and internet chat rooms have been filled with rumours and gossip the Polish international was set to be binned for tomorrow’s Parkhead showdown.
Manager Gordon Strachan refused to confirm whether or not his troubled 28-year-old would play yesterday but Express Sport understands he will start in the Old Firm game - providing he is fit.
Captain Stephen McManus and midfielder Barry Robson have also declared themselves fit and ready to do battle.
Boruc returned from international duty in Wales and went through his paces with the rest of Strachan’s first-team squad yesterday.
I don’t think he should have any problems whatsoever
Gordon Strachan
The Pole met with Strachan at Lennoxtown to issue his punishment for his dressing room bust-up, which left team mate Aiden McGeady with a black eye.
Strachan said: “I don’t think he should have any problems whatsoever. It’s done, finished and we get on with it.”
Asked if Boruc would keep his place in goal for the Old Firm clash, Strachan said: “Find out on Sunday.”
Polish assistant manager Jan de Zeeuw reckons Boruc could be cracking up over his personal life and his erratic form but Strachan last night insisted he will make his own mind up about his players.
“I don’t know what he said and I am not interested in what he said," the Celtic boss bullishly answered.
“I can only deal with what I see.”
The Hoops manager also backed up Express Sport’s story from yesterday that Shaun Maloney had done his hamstring again and is out of Sunday’s game.
The injury comes a week after Maloney made his top team return from an eight week hamstring lay-off.
Strachan said: “Shaun feels his hamstring and we will just have to go gently with him, which we have in the last couple of days.”
