Charlie Nicholas: My prediction for Celta Vigo v Man United
MANCHESTER UNITED may not have it all their own way against Celta Vigo in the Europa League.
Jose Mourinho has an injury crisis on his hands
That is the prediction of Charlie Nicholas.
Manchester United go into the first leg of their Europa League semi-final tomorrow (8.05pm) with as many as eight players injured.
United are widely considered as favourites to win the competition.
Charlie Nicholas thinks Manchester United won't find it easy against Celta Vigo
I’m going to suggest the tie is going to be left wide open
And while Nicholas thinks Jose Mourinho’s men will advance to the final, he reckons they may have work to do in the second leg.
“People are suggesting United will just go on and win this competition but they have got so much work to do now with the fixtures they've got left,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.
“The betting obviously suggests United should come through but Celta are a decent side, with former Liverpool boy Iago Aspas a real threat.
Jose Mourinho discusses Manchester United's injury crisis
“They're a team who score a lot of goals and they don't seem to mind getting physical. They'll be patient on the ball and wait for their opportunities.
“The overriding issue for United is the injuries. With the amount of games they have to play, Mourinho will set his side up to keep the first leg tight.
“Jose doesn't rotate too much and that takes its toll on players.
“I’m going to suggest the tie is going to be left wide open. I would still expect United to qualify but this is by no means a gimme.”
