Chelsea, Arsenal and Celtic stars all involved in staggering £34m French plot
MARSEILLE are planning to spend a staggering £34million on a new striker and have their heart set on raiding Britain’s top clubs, according to reports.
Arsenal could sell Olivier Giroud to Marseille
Arsenal, Chelsea and Celtic could all receive offers from Ligue 1 side Marseille this summer.
French newspaper L’Equipe claim officials at Marseille have agreed to set aside a £34m (€40m) lump sum to bring in a top striker.
Marseille have struggled in the French top flight this season and currently sit fifth in the table.
The report claims Marseille could swoop for Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi, Moussa Dembele of Celtic or even Arsenal frontman Olivier Giroud.
Batshuayi seems like a viable choice, with the Chelsea forward having failed to live up to his £32m price tag since leaving Marseille for the Premier League last summer.
A quick deal could suit both clubs at the end of the season.
Dembele has been tracked by a number of Europe’s elite sides and was linked with a deadline-day move to Chelsea in January.

Mossa Dembele is another potential target for Marseille
The former Fulham star chose to remain at Celtic but the Hoops could cash in on the 20-year-old before the start of next term.
As for Giroud, he has become a peripheral player at Arsenal, spending more and more time on the bench in recent games.
The France international, 30, left Ligue 1 side Montpellier for north London in 2012 but could secure a move back to his home country if Arsenal find another forward option.
