Cech was forced off against West Brom last time out with a calf injury and will miss Sunday's visit of Manchester City and Wednesday's home clash against West Ham.
Gunners striker Lucas Perez (thigh) is also unavailable, while Santi Cazorla (ankle) is out for the rest of the season.

Alexis Sanchez could face Manchester City
Alexis Sanchez took a knock during the international break with Chile but could still feature against City.
Wenger said: "We have lost Petr Cech. Apart from that Santi Cazorla and Lucas Perez are out. That should basically be it.
Santi Cazorla out for the rest of the season
"We got a message from Alexis. It was a kick. We didn’t know if the ligament was touched or not.
"Bone bruising. He could normally play. [On Cazorla], I think the season is over for him."
