The Chelsea legend was rumoured to be in Birmingham for talks over a deal with Championship outfit Villa.
Roberto Di Matteo worked with the Blues hero when he was in charge at Stamford Bridge, and the pair were part of the 2012 Champions League winning side.
However, Montreal Impact striker Drogba has indicated the idea is false as he continues life as normal in the MLS.

Didier Drogba spent nine years in total in England across two spells at Chelsea
Drogba tweeted along with two blushing emojis: "Just come out of training at Montreal Impact & a million messages & trending on Twitter saying I was in Birmingham today."
Not only did the four-time Premier League winner move to correct the Villa reports, their new owner Tony Xia also confirmed no deal was in place.
Villa are still searching for additions in the transfer market with Di Matteo leading their fight for an immediate return to the Premier League.
But Xia implied Villa lack the funds to even think about bringing Drogba back to England, let alone appeal to him as an option.
In reply to a fan's query about signing Drogba, the Villa chief tweeted: "Come on. It's not the China Villa club (maybe future will)."
While the Premier League icon won't be arriving at Villa, Xia did say the club are working hard to sign a world-class striker before the end of the transfer window.
