Sanches was consistently linked with a move to Old Trafford, with reports suggesting United had been scouting the Lisbon-born ace in every Benfica game this season.
However, the Portuguese midfielder revealed he decided to shun an offer from United and opt for a move to the Allianz Arena because of the lure of winning silverware.
“Manchester United made an offer. I think it was well known,” Sanches said. “But I had other offers as well.”
“I chose Bayern Munich because it’s a great club. They have a 65,000 seater stadium and an atmosphere similar to Benfica. I’ll win titles.”
