MANCHESTER UNITED are back in the running to sign Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes as a proposed deal with Juventus stalls, according to reports.

United are apparently willing to trigger Gomes' £51.5million release clause, but hope to land the player on a cheaper deal.
The club have turned to Gomes, 22, after missing out on Benfica midfielder Renato Sanches who has joined Bayern Munich.
Meanwhile, Juventus are refusing to go higher than their initial £39.5m offer.
Juventus had originally offered to pay £23.7m up front for Gomes and £15.8m in clauses and bonuses.
The Turin club don't want to lose Zaza, who boasts eight goals for the season, in case they fail to replace Real Madrid and Arsenal target Alvaro Morata.
Portugal international Gomes picked up 15 yellow cards in 41 appearances for Valencia this season.

He only joined the club permanently from Benfica last summer after initially impressing on a season-long loan.
It is claimed Jose Mourinho - tipped to replace Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford this summer - is a fan of Gomes.
Spanish newspaper Superdeporte claimed last month that the former Chelsea manager had demanded United push for the player as part of preparations for his own arrival in Manchester.
