Bournemouth 1 - West Brom 1: Late Ritchie goal ends run of successive home defeats
MATT RITCHIE ended Bournemouth’s wretched run of three successive home defeats with a late equaliser against resolute Albion.
Matt Ritchie has made 36 appearances in Bournemouth's debut Premier League season
The visitors, with just two points from their previous seven outings, looked set for the win after Salomon Rondon’s early goal.
But after struggling to trouble Albion keeper Ben Foster, the Cherries turned to livewire substitute Ritchie, who duly obliged eight minutes from time.
Cherries boss Eddie Howe said: “I was very relieved not to lose. We need to grow the club and the only way to do it is to stay in the Premier League.”
Albion manager Tony Pulis said: “It would have been easy for the lads to put their sandals on but they worked very hard.”
