Divock Origi, Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho all scored, and there was an unlikely name on the scoresheet as Mamadou Sakho headed home just before half-time.
The defender had only scored once this season prior to Wednesday’s clash and it was clear from his celebration that he was shocked to have found the net.
Sakho ran all the way to the dugout where he embraced team-mate Toure.
And it turns out the Ivorian had predicted Sakho was going to score.
"Kolo told me this morning I would score again so that's why when I scored I thought of him and ran to celebrate with him,” Sakho told the club’s website.
"It was a very, very good atmosphere, a very good result for us, and I think we deserved it because we played very well," he added.
"The 12th player was with us - the fans. It was a really good night for Liverpool."
