Chelsea are planning a £90million raid for John Stones and Romelu Lukaku
Antonio Conte will take charge of the Blues after the European Championships and he is expected to bring in a host of fresh talent, as Chelsea look to put this season’s disasterous campaign behind them.
Chelsea have been long-term admirers of the Everton duo, particularly Stones.
The west London outfit had three bids for the 21-year-old rejected last summer, the last being for £37m, but they are lining up a £40m bid when the transfer window opens, according to the Daily Star.
The report claims the Blues will also go after £50m-rated Lukaku.
The Belgian has been in sensational form for the Toffees this season but his future has been thrown into doubt after the 22-year-old recently admitted he wants to pursue his dream of playing in the Champions League.
News of Chelsea’s plans will come as a blow for Manchester United, who have both been heavily linked with a move for Lukaku and Stones in recent months.
United are said to have identified Lukaku as a priority target, while Stones is seen as an ideal candidate to bolster their defence.
Lukaku and Stones are both under contract at Goodison Park until 2019.
