Jamie Vardy could yet miss Leicester's crucial trip to Manchester United next Saturday
The England star decided not to contest the charge brought for his furious reaciton to his sending off against West Ham last Sunday.
But Vardy has asked for a personal hearing in a bid to put over an impassioned explanation of his behaviour.
He will automatically miss Sunday's home clash with Swansea because of the dismissal but will plead his case to an independent three-man commission that he should not pick up a further ban for the trip to Manchester United the following week.
Vardy and the club will argue what they believe to be exceptional reasons behind his furious reaction hoping he may be cleared for the final three matches of the season.
Leicester lead the Premier League by five points from Spurs.
