Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal: Why I'm unhappy after win over Everton
LOUIS VAN GAAL conceded that Manchester United were far from their best as they beat Everton 1-0 at Old Trafford.
Louis van Gaal was frustrated with his team's performance
Anthony Martial scored what was the club’s 1000th Premier League goal nine minutes after the half-time to move the Red Devils into fifth place in the Premier League.
Phil Jagielka tested both the woodwork and David De Gea but it was game that lacked much real quality on either side.
"It was more or less a stolen victory,” Van Gaal said.
“We have a very important game against Tottenham.”
One negative from the day for the Old Trafford faithful was the withdrawal of Daley Blind eight minutes from the end apparently with an injury.
But his manager did not seem worried about the long-term effects beyond some fatigue.
"Daley Blind has played every match this season and he is at the end of his strengths,” Van Gaal said.
“I shall give him two days off."
