Chelsea News: Lavezzi’s Man Utd admission, summer bid for Bosnian ace, Conte's boss speaks
EXPRESS SPORT brings you all the latest news from Stamford Bridge.
Miralem Pjanic is a summer target for Chelsea
The former PSG winger joined Hebei in a deal worth around £400,000-a-week but revealed he turned down a move to the Premier League and Serie A.
He told Canal+: “I could have signed for Inter, Chelsea or Manchester United.
“But I made the decision to go to China. It’s an important choice for my career, I’m sure I’ll face many challenges here.
“I like the project to develop this club. It was that which convinced me to come to Hebei, as well as the financial aspect.
“I’m also fascinated by Chinese culture, so to come and play here is definitely an interesting challenge.”
Chelsea are preparing a summer bid for Miralem Pjanic.
The Roma midfielder has had a terrific season with nine goals and eight assists in Serie A.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Bosnian wants to leave Italy and the Blues are keeping tabs on his situation.
Chelsea's worst kits
Italy president Carlo Tavecchio has played down reports surrounding Antonio Conte’s move to Chelsea.
The Italian coach is said to be close to agreeing a deal to become the west London club’s manager for next season.
But Tavecchio was coy when responding to those claims insisting Conte’s focus is on Italy’s preparations for Euro 2016.
“For me, at the moment, Conte is with the national team and is working with desire, skill and sacrifice,” Tavecchio said.
“We are taking the first steps to do well in the European Championship, but beyond that, only time will tell.”
