Arsenal News: Wenger wants Newcastle ace, midfielder deal confirmed, £11.7m defender bid
EXPRESS SPORT brings you all the latest news coming from the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal want Newcastle's Freddie Woodman
According to ClubCall, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has set his sights on a move for Newcastle goalkeeper Freddie Woodman ahead of the summer window.
The 19-year-old, who is also a target for Premier League rivals Liverpool and Tottenham, is out of contract at the end of the season and is yet to open talks over an extension.
The England Under-19 shot-stopper impressed on a loan spell at Crawley during the first-half of the season, but was recalled in October following injuries to Tim Krul and Karl Darlow.
Meanwhile, the Gunners have been dealt a blow in their long-term pursuit of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Sven Bender, who has today signed a new deal until 2021.
The Germany international also urged the likes of team-mates Ilkay Gundogan and Mats Hummels, who have both been linked with moves away, to also sign new deals.
"I am extremely happy to be able to keep wearing the Dortmund top in the future," Bender said. "I would be happy if in the coming weeks other team mates follow suit."

Arsenal linked with shock move for PSG defender Serge Aurier
And finally, French publication L’Equipe claim Arsenal are lining up a shock move for disgraced Paris Saint-Germain defender Serge Aurier.
The 23-year-old is expected to leave the Ligue 1 giants at the end of the season after the club suspended him over a recent outburst at boss Laurent Blanc and several team-mates.
The Gunners, who reportedly failed to sign him before his move to PSG last year, are thought to be lining up an £11.7m move for the Ivory Coast international.
