Granit Xhaka has discussed a move to Arsenal with Francis Coquelin
Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka has revealed he has discussed a move to Arsenal with Gunners midfielder Francis Coquelin.
Arsene Wenger is thought to be interested in signing the Switzerland international - valued at £37million - but Xhaka admits he'd need Coquelin's shirt number if he was to join.
"That was my first professional number at Basel," he told Tor Fabrik when asked about his love of the number 34.
"It was also here in Gladbach, with Amin Younes. And at Arsenal Coquelin has it. I've spoken with him, he would like to take another number!"
Meanwhile, the Gunners are reportedly closing in on a double deal to bring Nigerian wonderkids Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze to north London.
That is according to Football Insider, who claim midfielder Nwakali, 17, and winger Chukwueze, 16, are due to sign next week as they wait for their work permits to be granted.

Emmanuel Eboue has talked up a potential return to Arsenal
And finally, former Arsenal defender Emmanuel Eboue has talked up a potential return to the Emirates Stadium this month.
Eboue, who made over 200 appearances for the Gunners between 2006 and 2011, is currently a free agent after seeing his contract terminated at Galatasaray in the summer.
On his future plans, the former Ivory Coast international said: "We are looking for options and I would love to come back to Arsenal."
