LIVERPOOL fans have taken to Twitter to express their disappointment after the club denied making an approach for Carlo Ancelotti.

Manager Brendan Rodgers is under severe pressure after a poor start to the season.
Liverpool lie in thirteenth place in the Premier League and have not won a match for five games in all competitions.
It has meant doubts have arisen over Rodgers' future at Anfield and reports this morning claimed the Liverpool hierarchy had approached the former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss.
The Italian is currently without a club after leaving Madrid in the summer but Liverpool have denied the speculation.

And following Liverpool's denial, Ancelotti started trending on Twitter and some supporters expressed their disappointment at the news.
One fan said: "Ancelotti as Liverpool manager? We could only dream."
Why would Ancelotti go from managing Ronaldo Bale and benzema to managing Benteke Ings and Milner?..

Another fan was more downbeat writing: "The fear is that if we don't hire somebody of Ancelotti's calibre now we will slip so far into the abyss we never will."
And given the gulf in class between Madrid's squad and Liverpool's, a supporter made an excellent point tweeting: "Why would Ancelotti go from managing Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema to managing Benteke, Ings and Milner?"
The presence of Carlo Ancelotti loom large over Brendan Rodgers
