Barcelona star has caused controversy over his support for a referendum on Catalan independence and provocative comments towards Real Madrid fans.
On Saturday, the 28-year-old was booed by Spanish supporters in their Euro 2016 qualifying victory over Slovakia in Oviedo. The incident follows jeering during a friendly in June against Costa Rica.
Manager Vincente Del Bosque spoke out in defence of Pique calling the abuse "disgraceful".
He said: "It is unpleasant. I find it disgraceful that a player of the national team is being booed, and I hope this doesn't happen again."
Spain and England were due to face each other at the Real Madrid's Bernabeu home on November 12.
