Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Pogba had already ironed out an £8.7m-a-year contract with the club courtesy of super agent Mino Raiola.

The report adds the Premier League giants were fearful of Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain jeopardising their deal for the 22-year-old.
