Man Utd eye moves for Bale AND Navas as Real Madrid step up De Gea efforts
LOUIS VAN GAAL wants Real Madrid keeper Keylor Navas as a replacement for David De Gea, according to reports.
Gareth Bale - Spotlight On
De Gea looks increasingly likely to leave United this summer, after rejecting a new deal at the club.
Real Madrid are keen to land the 24-year-old as the long-term successor to Iker Casillas.
And Van Gaal has already admitted that United are looking at alternatives in case De Gea does bolt.
That has seen Tottenham's Hugo Lloris, Stoke's Asmir Begovic and Chelsea's Petr Cech.
But according to Goal, Costa Rican stopper Navas is at the top of Van Gaal's list.
Keylor Navas is wanted at Manchester United
It is claimed that the Dutch boss wanted to sign Navas from Levante last summer and will try and prise the 28-year-old away from Real in part-exchange for De Gea.
United may still try and use De Gea as leverage in a possible deal for Gareth Bale, but Navas may prove a more realistic - and more practical - target should the Spanish international keeper tell the Red Devils he wants to leave.
