Athletic Bilbao remind Arsenal, Man Utd and City of Aymeric Laporte's £30m price tag
ATHLETIC BILBAO have insisted that Manchester City will have to meet Aymeric Laporte's release clause if they want to sign the French international this summer.
Reports yesterday suggested that City had seen an opening bid of £18million for Laporte - who has also attracted interest from Arsenal and Manchester United - rejected.
And while City remain reluctant to fork out the £30m necessary to trigger the player's release clause, Athletic president Jose Urrutia says they will have to do exactly that to sign the player.
He said: "We are pleased that Aymeric is still here and we hope that he will stay at the club for many more years.
"He is a great player. So far, we don't have any specific offers for him.

Athletic have a history of insisting that their player's buy-out clauses are met before selling, partly due to the difficulty replacing star names given the clubs Basque only policy.
