The 'best weekend of sport'? Fans gear up for epic TV marathon
WITH Six Nations rugby, the Cricket World Cup, Premier League matches and an all-London clash in the Capital One Cup Final, sports fans are gearing up for an epic TV marathon this weekend.
Fans can't wait for Six Nations, Cricket World Cup and Capital One Cup Final action
Many have dubbed it the "best weekend of sport", with Twitter users abuzz this afternoon at the prospect of spending the best part of 48 hours glued to live action.
Josh Willis posted: "Certainly the best weekend of sport is near."
Richard Impellizzeri added: "What a weekend of sport lined up. Can't fecking wait."
And Lorcan Jackson wrote: "Chilled weekend ahead, can't wait to do absolutely nothing except watch sport and eat excessively for the entirety of it."
Non-sport fans hoping to relax in front of a good film this weekend, or to slump in front of a box-set, also face a second barrier to gaining access to the remote - thanks to cheeky Capital One.
Helping as many fans as possible to catch a glimpse of Chelsea taking on their London rivals Tottenham at Wembley on Sunday afternoon, the League Cup sponsors have created lockable cases specially designed to keep satellite TV remotes locked down.

Certainly the best weekend of sport is near
So, even if fans take their eyes off the ball - or pop to the fridge for refreshments - the channel is safe.
Jason Carr, the credit card company’s head of sponsorship, said: “We realised that Sunday is a fantastic day of sport – with the Capital One Cup and Man City v Liverpool for football fans, Six Nations for rugby fans, plus the Cricket World Cup.
"We wanted to do something for fans across the country who are desperate to catch all the Capital One Cup action without any interruption.
“Now fans can literally lock on to their favourite sports programme, sit back and enjoy the action.”
Capital One is giving away the limited-edition ‘Remote Control Defenders’ to 50 lucky winners through Twitter in a prize draw in the lead up to super Sunday.
