Moussa Sissoko admits he is a lifelong Arsenal fan
The Gunners have been tracking the Magpies midfield powerhouse for the past month, with Arsene Wenger eager to strengthen in that department.
Sissoko himself recently fuelled speculation of a January move away from St James' Park when he declared his love for the north London outfit, and said: "Arsenal were my favourite club when I was young and my idol was Patrick Vieira.
"I have always loved this club and I still love them."
Though Newcastle have let the likes of Andy Carroll and Yohan Cabaye leave in previous January transfer windows, they won't sanction Sissoko's departure.

Reports suggest the club are ready to rebuff Arsenal, who are lining up a £9m bid for the Frenchman.
Sissoko's future has been shrouded in uncertainty since Alan Pardew signalled his intent to quit the club on Sunday evening.
Pardew is expected to be confirmed as Crystal Palace's new boss today, and an announcement on his successor appears to be imminent too.
