Very bad results for us! Louis van Gaal laments Chelsea and Man City wins
LOUIS VAN GAAL was pleased with Manchester United's win over Newcastle - but not the other Boxing Day results!
Louis van Gaal was happy with Manchester United's Boxing Day win
Van Gaal's side beat the Magpies 3-1 at Old Trafford with Wayne Rooney scoring twice and Robin van Persie heading home a third.
And while Van Gaal was happy with United's dominance he was angered by their rivals victories.
United are 14 points off league leaders Chelsea and seven behind second-place City after their respective wins.
"Very bad results for us!" Van Gaal said of United's title challengers.
Wayne Rooney pleased Van Gaal with his midfield display
"Yes today I am very pleased," he added. "We dominated 90 minutes and in the second half we were already thinking about the game against Tottenham (on Sunday at 12pm).
"Our last game against Aston Villa Rooney was too defensive in midfield and I want him attacking so he can score goals and he has proven that today.
"We make progress in every game but we are also doing very bad things in every game and have to improve but I am satisfied as we are dominating a lot of games.
"Not always winning but that is coming."
