Chelsea are ready to cut their losses on the 30-year-old, who has proved a disaster since his £50million switch from Liverpool in 2011.

The west London club were interested in signing Mario Mandzukic last summer before he left Bayern Munich for the Vicente Calderon for a reported £18m.
