Steven Gerrard celebrates scoring for Liverpool against Leicester
Gerrard has attracted a lot of headlines in the past few weeks, with his Anfield future up in the air.
The 34-year-old produced a scintillating display in midweek as Liverpool ran out as comfortable 3-1 winners over Leicester City.
Although Gerrard diffused reports he had a bust-up with manager Brendan Rodgers after being dropped for the 1-0 win over Stoke City last weekend, he is no closer to signing a new deal.
And Neville has urged Liverpool to start thinking about life without Gerrard now, as he is in the "storm phase" of his career.
"Gerrard and Liverpool Football Club should be making a decision, I would say, around March or April next year," Neville told The Daily Telegraph.

Gary Neville
"The club should have planned already (or be planning) for life without him. That would be true for any 34-year-old, however illustrious.
"Gerrard, on the other hand, is approaching post-career mode in his thinking.
"As so many footballers find, there is no manual and no right or wrong path.
"Countless times a 34-year-old will be asked: what are you going to do after your career.
"I liken it to asking a 16-year-old school leaver: what’s your job going to be in six, seven years? Most won’t have a clue."
