Sevilla to test Manchester United's resolve with Juan Mata bid
MANCHESTER UNITED may be forced to fend off interest from Sevilla for Juan Mata in January.
Juan Mata - Player Profile
The 26-year-old, who scored the winner in the Red Devils' 2-1 win over Stoke on Tuesday, has been in and out of Louis van Gaal's side this term.
Mata, who moved to Old Trafford from Chelsea for £37.5m in January, has had no shortage of admirers in recent months, with the likes of Atletico Madrid apparently lining up a £20m bid.
Fresh reports now suggest Sevilla will show their hand and table an offer for Mata.
Juan Mata could head back to Spain in January
It is thought that United haven't abandoned their plans to sign £35m-rated Kevin Strootman although they will have until the summer in order to push ahead with a move.
Only last month, Mata was reportedly happy at Old Trafford and had no intention to leave in January.
However, should a suitable offer be tabled, United might find it hard to turn it down.
