Bertrand would welcome a permanent move to Southampton[GETTY]
The England international arrived at the Saints on a season-long loan, replacing Luke Shaw, who joined Manchester United in the summer for £27m.
The left-back has since been a key performer in Ronald Koeman's side, helping to keep five clean sheets to lift the club to second in the Premier League.
And Bertrand admits he would welcome a permanent move to St Mary's, with Koeman revealing last week of his interest in keeping the 25-year-old.
"It is one of them things where I've got to wait and see, but, for me, there's no reason why not, to be honest," he said on a potential deal.

For me, there's no reason why not
Ryan Bertrand
"There is a good base to the club, we're pulling in the right direction. We have fantastic fans, fantastic players, a fantastic manager and the coaching staff.
"It has been a good experience for me so far so I don't see why not. For me, it is a first in many aspects, especially with the consistency of football I'm getting.
"I am pleased with the way it has started but you know there is a lot more work to be done.
"As a team we're only going to get better, individually I am only going to improve."
