According to reports, the Italian side have set their sights on Marseille attacking midfielder Thauvin despite mounting interest from England.
The 21-year-old was involved in one of the transfer sagas of last summer - with Arsenal and Chelsea heavily linked - before he went on strike to force through a move away from Lille to sign for Marseille.
But, despite his conduct, the player won over neutrals with some impressive displays in Ligue 1 this season.
It was previously thought that Thauvin was set to stay in Ligue 1 this season but he could be on the move to Italy.
Marseille president Vincent Labrune recently told RMC: "He is one of the greatest talents of his generation.
"OM have great hopes for him. I hope this year will be Thauvin's year.
"He's done the perfect preparation. I'm hoping he will explode."
