Tim Sherwood sends warning to Tottenham players
TOTTENHAM boss Tim Sherwood has warned his under-achieving players that they must stay focused on qualifying for the Europa League or risk getting dropped.
Spurs, who sit sixth in the Premier League standings, could only a manage a 3-3 draw with relegation candidates West Brom at the weekend.
And the Londoners will be missing key players for their clash with Fulham on Saturday, with Roberto Soldado, Etienne Capoue, Jan Vertonghen, Kyle Walker and Michael Dawson all out.
The return of Mousa Dembele, who previously played for the Cottagers, is the only positive news for the White Hart Lane club.
But Sherwood claims his available players must earn their right to play as they look in search of European football next season.
If I see they are not focused on the game, then they don't play
"It's important that we concentrate on the job in hand," he said.
"The boys get paid a lot of money to play for Tottenham and we owe it to the fans that will turn out and watch them to keep focused on the game.
"If I see they are not focused on the game, then they don't play."
Tottenham are currently six points behind fifth-placed Everton, but have a decent end to the season with Stoke, West Ham and Aston Villa to play after Fulham.
