SPOTTED: Rooney shows United stars how to go out in Manchester like a pro
WAYNE ROONEY proved it is possible for a Manchester United star to enjoy himself away from the action without attracting negative headlines.
Less than a week after United team-mates Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley had been seen on a night out in Manchester, Rooney headed for an evening in the city.
But the England international showed his younger colleagues how to have fun before calling it a day before midnight.
Rooney was seen leaving Wing's Restaurant near Albert Square in the city centre with agent Paul Stretford.
The pair returned to a chauffeur-driven car at around 11pm last night having spent about 2 hours in the celebrity eatery.
According to reports, United boss David Moyes punished Welbeck, Cleverley and also Ashley Young for their night out after the team's European exit last week.
Welbeck and Cleverley were seen partying in the streets of Manchester in the early hours of the morning.
Young was also claimed to be in attendance, but Moyes will be happier if he sees the snaps of Rooney's night out.
United travel to Everton on Sunday, with Rooney a major doubt due to a toe injury.
