Dons ace Jamie dreams of cap call
JAMIE LANGFIELD would be delighted to have the opportunity to be part of Gordon Strachan’s Scotland plans ahead of next month’s friendly in Poland.
The Aberdeen No 1 has earned a number of squad call-ups in the past but has never won a full cap.
At 34, Langfield is enjoying some of the best form of his career and would relish the chance to impress.
He said: “I just keep my head down and work away.
“But, if you ever get the chance to go away with Scotland, it’s an amazing thing to do. If it was to happen again, I definitely wouldn’t say no.”
Scotland travel to Warsaw on March 5 and a number of other Dons players have been tipped for a call-up, with Derek McInnes’ side riding high in the Premiership and impressing in the cups.
Asked if he expects to see any of his team-mates drafted in, Langfield added: “If people want to say good things about our players, it means we’re doing the right things on the pitch.”
