Tony Pulis aims to keep youth movement going at Palace with Sullay Kai-Kai
NEW Crystal Palace boss Tony Pulis has sprung a surprise by naming 18 year old academy starlet Sullay Kai-Kai in his squad for his first game in charge at Norwich on Saturday.
Kai-Kai netted a hat-trick this week for Palace’s Under 18 side, and Pulis is ready to give the youngster a chance as he battled to save the Selhurst Park club from relegation.
The Place boss, who only took over on Monday, said:“The young lad scored a hat-trick for the Under 21s and we will be taking him to Norwich.
“Palace have got a fantastic reputation for their Academy – it’s one of the reasons I came here. It doesn’t automatically mean they will play, they have to prove they can.
“I like to bring young players through at Stoke, like Ryan Shawcross, and I want to try to do the same here. We have got KaiKai involved in the group. I’m hoping and praying we have a few more gems in that group that will come and help us.”
