Arsenal unwilling to meet £23million release clause for Everton's Marouane Fellaini
Marouane Fellaini's chances of a dream move to Arsenal are in trouble after the club indicated they are unwilling to meet the £23million release clause for the player.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is looking to add quality to his squad this summer and has identified the 25-year-old as a key target.
Though Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis confirmed the Frenchman has significant funds to spend, it is understood Wenger is reluctant to pay over-the-odds for any of his acquisitions
Fellaini is said to be keen on a move to the Emirates after spending the last five years at Goodison Park where he has made 173 appearances scoring 32 times.
New Everton boss Roberto Martinez is desperate to keep Fellaini at the club, however he is aware of the 25-year-old's desire to play in the Champions League.
David Moyes is monitoring the situation as he is interested in taking the Belgain international with him to Old Trafford.
Fellaini joined Everton in 2008 for a club record fee of £15million from Standard Liege.
