Aluko penalty could be reviewed by SFA
RANGERS ace Sone Aluko is in danger of being put on trial-by-TV by the SFA over claims he dived to win a penalty against Dunfermline.
The 23-year-old attacker went down in the area beside Martin Hardie on 29 minutes to set up the Ibrox outfit's second goal in their 2-1 win over the Pars.
However, Dunfermline manager Jim McIntyre blew a fuse over referee Steve Conroy's award of a spot-kick and it is understood SFA compliance officer Vincent Lunny is likely to review footage of the incident.
Alleged 'simulation' can be dealt with through the SFA's new fast-track procedures and can result in suspension.
McIntyre said: "It is a dive. It is as simple as that. There were three players around him and there was no contact at all.
"It was never a penalty in a month of Sundays. The referee's had a nightmare."
Aluko has protested his innocence, though, and is set for a real confrontation with the authorities.
He said: “I felt there was contact then I fell over. I’m not one who normally dives.I thought it was a penalty and, obviously, the ref did as well.
“Dunfermline’s players didn’t protest either, did they? So I don’t see what the issue is.”
