Martin Jol backs Bobby Zamora for England role
MARTIN JOL believes Bobby Zamora can help provide the answer to England’s strike problems at Euro 2012.
Fulham striker Zamora, 30, made his first England start in the 1-0 win over Sweden on Tuesday and admitted his full debut could have gone better.
England manager Fabio Capello is still weighing up his options about how to fill the gap left by Wayne Rooney’s three-match ban.
Jol said: “If Bobby gets another chance or a couple of chances, he will take it because he is different. England don’t have a lot of players who are real No9s who can hold up the ball.
“He is a link-up No9 and is probably the most gifted.”
