Hearts lead by one point: Following their 3–0 win over Falkirk, Hearts sit top of the league with 80 points. Celtic's win keeps them in second with 79 points. Since both teams won, the gap remains at a single point heading into the final weekend of the 2025/26 season.
The winner-takes-all decider: The schedule has set up a final-day shootout between Celtic and Hearts at Celtic Park. Because the gap is only one point, the winner of this match will be crowned Scottish Premiership champions, regardless of goal difference or previous results this season.
Hearts can win with a draw: Since Hearts hold a one-point advantage, a draw in the final match would also be sufficient for Derek McInnes' side to secure their first league title since 1960. This would officially break the 41-year Old Firm duopoly held by Celtic and Rangers.
