Trent Alexander-Arnold shows true colours with new Diogo Jota tribute
Trent Alexander-Arnold has paid a touching tribute to his former Liverpool team-mate Diogo Jota

A tribute to the late Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has been noticed on Trent Alexander-Arnold's football boots. Many are still in shock about the Portuguese forward and his brother Andre Silva's tragic deaths last summer.
The siblings were killed in a horrific car crash in the Zamora area of Sanabria, Spain, last July. Liverpool permanently retired the number 20 jersey in his memory, while Reds fans continue to sing Jota's name throughout fixtures.
His legacy lives on in multiple ways, with both Anfield and Molineux – the ground of his previous club Wolves – serving as memorial sites for supporters wishing to express their condolences.

Personalities from throughout the footballing community united to commemorate the two men following their tragic deaths. A group of Liverpool players, headed by Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson, were present at the funeral service in Gondomar, Porto.
Van Dijk and Robertson brought floral arrangements displaying the shirt numbers worn by Jota and Silva at their clubs not long after it happened. Despite Alexander-Arnold departing Liverpool several months prior to Jota's death, he has continued to honour his memory.
Upon his return to Anfield as a Real Madrid player, he placed flowers and a sincere message dedicated to 'Forever 20,' describing Jota as a dear friend who 'lit up the room.' The duo had forged a strong bond during their spell together at Liverpool.

In his most recent match for Real Madrid, the England international has opted to feature Jota's shirt number on his boots – a gesture to keep his companion close wherever he competes. Sharp-eyed supporters noticed the tribute on the side of Alexander-Arnold's boots, where the number 20 appears alongside an infinity symbol.
Alexander-Arnold was observed wearing the boots during Madrid's 1-0 victory in their Champions League play-off first leg against Benfica in Lisbon on Tuesday night. The 27-year-old spent five campaigns playing beside Jota at Liverpool before joining the Spanish giants Madrid in a £10million transfer.
Jota, meanwhile, signed for Liverpool from Wolves back in September 2020. The forward fulfilled a vital role in the Reds' Premier League title-winning campaign last season, featuring in 26 matches and netting six goals.
