Premier League manager celebrates win in Wetherspoons with fans

Wolves boss Vitor Pereira was spotted celebrating with fans in a local Wetherspoons pub after leading his side to a 4-2 victory over Tottenham on Sunday. Another inspirational win moved the Molineux outfit 14 points clear of the relegation zone, an unthinkable position when Pereira took over from Gary O'Neil in December.

The Portuguese boss joked "first the points, then the pints" in recent weeks and lived up to his word by joining supporters in local establishment 'The Moon Under Water'. Video footage captured by fans showed the head coach being embraced warmly as they cheered for the man spearheading Wolves' push up the table.

After Wolves' fourth Premier League win in a row, it was put to Pereira whether he would head down to the city centre pub once more to toast three points with supporters, having done so when they won 2-1 at Ipswich last time out.

"Every time," Pereira confirmed. "Work is work, but after the work we need to celebrate together. I need to feel the energy of these people and be part of the family."

And just a few hours later, once the 56-year-old had finished his duties following a drubbing of Spurs, Pereira made good on his word and entered a Wetherspoons to be met with joyous applause.

Even though Pereira began their most recent win with top scorer and talisman Matheus Cunha on the bench, a perfect start was made when Rayan Ait Nouri volleyed home from the edge of the box after just two minutes of play.

Wolves' lead was doubled through a calamitous own goal that last hit Djed Spence, then Jorgen Strand Larsen restored a two-goal advantage moments after Mathys Tel's effort and Cunha put the finishing touches on the win from the bench.

Results have made Pereira a fan favourite in a short period of time, while joining them in the pub after matches only endears the former Porto and Fenerbahce boss more to the Wolves faithful.

Pereira's first task, keeping Wolves in the top flight, has all but been completed. And now he is setting his sights much higher, starting by taking on Manchester United next and he hopes that day will end in another celebratory drink.

"Look, if I start to speak about being safe then I am not being ambitious," Pereira added. "I don't want to show my ambition (as that). I did not come to England, to the Premier League, to work just to avoid relegation. I am not this kind of coach.

"We go there (to United), with our qualities trying to compete for the three points."
