BBC announce deal to show new football league with live matches this weekend
The first of 20 matches will be shown on BBC iPlayer this Saturday.
The BBC will show the Welsh top division free-to-air this season. An agreement has been reached which will see Novia Cymru Premier matches shown on BBC iPlayer for the next three seasons.
The deal will see at least 20 matches shown per season. BBC Sport online will also have coverage of the league on its website.
The clash between Barry Town United and Cardiff Met which will take place this coming Saturday (August 15, 12.30pm) will be the first to be shown. Ammanford vs Conah's Quay Nomads will also be shown live on August 22.
BBC Wales' head of sport Carolyn Hitt said of the arrangement: This deal strengthens our commitment to provide live coverage of Welsh football, and follows our recent announcement to show all of the UEFA Wales men's international games up until Euro 2028.
"We hope this will be welcome news to Welsh football fans as we continue to bring sport to free-to-air television."

Football Association Wales head of domestic leagues Jack Sharp added: "This agreement represents another significant step in growing the profile of the Novira Cymru Premier, enabling us to reach more supporters across Wales and the wider UK through increased free-to-air coverage.
"The BBC's commitment to Welsh domestic football will play an important role in increasing awareness of the league, attracting new audiences, and supporting our wider ambition to continue growing the game." The agreement follows a restructuring of the league ahead of the new campaign, which has seen it grow from 12 to 16 clubs.
Sky's Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle includes at least 215 live Premier League clashes across the 2026/27 season with more than 1,500 games from the EFL and beyond, plus F1, golf and darts.
Every subscription now comes with 135 channels alongside free subscriptions to HBO Max, Netflix, Disney+, discovery+ and Hayu.
Fixtures will also largely be held on Friday evenings. The development comes after ITV struck a deal with Sky Sports to broadcast 10 Championship matches free-to-air between now and the conclusion of the season.
That arrangement, which kicked off in January 2025, also sees selected Carabao Cup games broadcast live on the channel. The deal is set to run until the end of the 2026/27 season, with matches screened across both ITV and Sky Sports. ITV will likewise continue to air EFL highlights on both ITV4 and ITVX.
