Sir Jim Ratcliffe hosted Thomas Tuchel in Monaco to hold further discussions about the Manchester United job, according to reports. Tuchel is said to have pitched his plans if he replaces Erik ten Hag in the Old Trafford dug out, with the Dutchman still waiting to learn his fate from INEOS.

Ratcliffe's group are completing a season review, which is about to enter a third week since the FA Cup triumph against Manchester City on May 25.

Ten Hag was widely expected to be sacked following the Wembley showdown, having overseen United's worst-ever Premier League campaign.

However, the club's 13th FA Cup crown appears to have handed INEOS food for thought as they desperately look to avoid making any wrong decisions at the start of their project.

United have reportedly held talks with potential replacements, including Tuchel, Kieran McKenna, Mauricio Pochettino and Thomas Frank.

And Tuchel is said to have met Ratcliffe again as recently as this week, with INEOS' review thought to be in its advanced stages.

According to BILD, the pair shared a secret meeting to discuss the United job on Tuesday in Monaco, where Ratcliffe resides.

It's claimed that Tuchel laid out his masterplan if he succeeded Ten Hag as the Red Devils' head coach this summer.

The 50-year-old - who left Bayern Munich at the end of the season - reportedly name-dropped Jadon Sancho and Mason Mount as sporting problems he could solve.

Sancho seemingly has no future at United if Ten Hag remains in charge but will return to the club this summer after escaping on loan to Borussia Dortmund in January.

He has flopped since returning to England in a £72million deal in 2021, but Tuchel appears confident he can put the winger on the right track.

Mount's maiden season at United after leaving Chelsea for £60m was plagued by injury, limiting him to 20 appearances.

Tuchel will be keen to work with the 25-year-old midfielder again, having won the Champions League together at Stamford Bridge three years ago.

The report adds that the German coach pointed at Antonio Rudiger as an example of a player he has previously helped lift from a rut to realise their true potential.

Like Mount, he coached Rudiger at Chelsea. The German centre-back became one of Europe's best in his position under Tuchel's watch and later sealed a switch to Real Madrid.

There isn't thought to be a timeline for a final decision about Ten Hag's future, but it would be a surprise to see the process extend beyond this coming week.
