Man Utd already have important agreement for £60m Michael Olise transfer
Manchester United have already started drawing up their plans for the summer transfer window.
Manchester United’s board are reportedly all in agreement that they should target Michael Olise this summer. The Crystal Palace star has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford over the past few months, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe a keen admirer of the versatile playmaker.
United are expected to splash the cash at the end of the season, with reinforcements demanded at both ends of the pitch. With Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane both linked with moves away from the Red Devils, at least one centre-back is expected to arrive this summer as part of the rebuild.
Erik ten Hag is also keen to bring in another striker and a winger, with INEOS in agreement that United’s forward ranks need bolstering – regardless of who is sat in the dugout when the 2024/25 campaign gets underway.
Several options are being explored by the higher powers at the Theatre of Dreams, with Wolves’ Pedro Neto high on the club’s shortlist. However, they have only universally agreed on one attacker they want to target: Olise.
That is according to GiveMeSport, who report that United are very keen to acquire the services of the 22-year-old and have made the Palace star their top priority. Olise has scored six goals and assisted another three in 11 Premier League appearances so far this season, and there is a growing feeling that he can improve further at United.
Chelsea came within touching distance of securing the signature of Olise last summer when they attempted to activate his previous release clause, worth £35million. Palace responded quickly though, convincing the ex-Reading star to sign a bumper new deal at Selhurst Park and snub a summer exit.
Palace were willing to insert another release clause into Olise’s deal, increasing the fee to £60m. Such a figure is not out of the realms of his suitors though, which includes Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City.
United are willing to match that amount too, with some of their other transfer targets set to be determined based on whether their pursuit of Olise is successful. It remains to be seen whether Ratcliffe and his team can convince Olise to head up north this summer or if the versatile forward holds out for other options.
